Does Chef Tai cater for weddings? other events? Absolutely, Chef Tai™ enjoys bringing the Chef Tai™ Mobile Bistro Truck experience to such special events! We also cater for School Events, Birthdays, Meetings, Churches or any other Special Event.  Greatest advantage of having our Truck is that our food is made fresh on site!

How much is Chef Tai™’s service charge? Should I pay an additional gratuity? Service charges are typically 10%-20% for catered events. Our current service charge is 15%. Gratuity can be added at clients’ own discretion. :-)

Does Chef Tai™ require a minimum order? Can I pre-order a fixed amount of food & serve them in chaffing trays? Yes, our minimum food orders start at ~$500+. Chef Tai is adamant about our food’s quality & does not recommend putting our food in chaffing trays.  We will be happy to come park outside of your meeting area if possible to offer the right off the kitchen line food.  There will be additional cost for set up and labor on catered event.  Call us for details.

What is the travel fee for? The travel fee makes it possible for us to provide (labor & utilities) service to your area. If the event is 5 miles outside of our College Station HQ location, travel fee will incur.

Do I need to provide a permit for Chef Tai™ to cater my event? If you are located in Brazos Valley, you will not need to obtain a permit. Outside the county may require $90-$350+ in permit fees, unless we will be parking on private property. If it is within Texas A&M University or Blinn College, event has to be a Pre-Paid Catering Event for us to drive into the campus according to the rules provided by the school.  Please check your city or county for its requirements or call us to see if we already have an answer.

How far in advance should I book a Chef Tai™’s Mobile Bistro Truck event? We cannot always guarantee open time slots, so the sooner you book the quicker you can secure the date. Please email or fax a completed Catering Request form so we can draw up a contract for you. Events must be booked by Friday, 12 PM, the week prior to the event unless we can approve it over the phone on last minute.

When is the total due? The balance is due via Credit Card ~2 business days prior to your event, or by Cash on the day of your event (before doors open). Checks will only be accepted 7 DAYS PRIOR (to allow for clearance) unless we have already done business with you or have a credit with us.

I have filled out the Catering Request Form, does this mean I have booked the event? If not, how can I? Unfortunately answer is NOT.  It is just a Request, in order to secure your event you would need to sign the Chef Tai™ Contract & pay the 50% deposit.

Does Chef Tai provide trash cans, plates, utensils and napkins? Yes! :D Is the Deposit refundable? Chef Tai™ requires a 50% deposit to secure any event. If your event is cancelled: 30 or more days prior to the event date, the full deposit will be refunded 15-29 days prior to event, ½ of the deposit will be refunded 4-14 days prior to event, the full deposit will be retained by Chef Tai™ 2 days or less prior to the event, the full amount of the event will be retained / owed to Chef Tai™

Guaranteed Parking Client must verify that we are allowed to park at the event location site. If, for any reason, Chef Tai™ is unable to park at the event, all monies for the event, in full, will be retained by Chef Tai™. Chef Tai™’s Mobile Gourmet Trucks cannot drive up hills with a 30% grade or higher. TRUCK DIMENSIONS (general dimensions: trucks vary, please see below for clearance needed): length: 25′ height: 14′ width: 13 ½’ (side to side width, door panels open), 10’ (closed) CLEARANCE(approx.): length: 30 feet, height: 25 feet, width: 15 feet weight: 15k+) 1. Private parking area or 2. Street parking (but can’t be located on major collecting road way)

What form of payments do you accept? Chef Tai™ accepts cash, credit cards, cashier & personal checks (checks must be received 7 days prior to the event for clearance, payable to: Chef Tai™ Inc. ) $35 charge for any bounced / returned checks.
